The Death of Christ
Sin involves the death penalty. Someone must bear it – either the sinner or a suitable substitute. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, was the perfect substitute and He voluntarily paid the price for our sin. In doing so, He allowed salvation to all people who accept Him as their substitute.
This lesson is divided in two parts: (1) The doctrine of His death and (2) responses to objections to the substitutionary death of Christ.
